It’s a bit like telling someone that you opened a shop ‘down the street in Australia’ and expecting them to find it. It just doesn’t happen.

A few weeks ago, a local business in Mandurah approached us at TeckDM asking for help - their website has been online for 3 years and they hadn't seen any noticeable traffic come from their website to into their front door. This company had been in the business for over 20 years, had established a great number of clients yet has struggled to reach out to where the future of their business lies - the online world.
Our usual take on new clients is to dig deep and go wide. Dig deep to know where their problem is and go wide to find where they can improve. It wasn’t very hard to find out where everything had gone wrong. The previous web design company built their beautiful website but failed to stress the importance of web marketing and lead generation. We call this the “Field of Dreams” Approach.

Unfortunately for most of us, this isn’t how it happens. There are millions of websites out there all vying for the attention of potential customers and the search engines. If you don’t make yourself heard, you will simply get lost in the cornfield.<cue crickets chirping>

Don’t underestimate what Social Media can do for your business. Social Media is a language that the world speaks nowadays. Gen Y, Millennials, and Baby Boomers come together on all sorts of platforms. Just imagine the possibilities this can provide your business when used effectively. There is a big reason why all big marketing starts and ends with social.
2. Learn Content Marketing
Social Media and great content come hand in hand when it comes to Digital Marketing. You depend your organic reach on likes, shares and following. Social Media users are smart and they understand when they see click baits and fake information. Keep your contents fun, clean and informative. 3. Keep your Website Malware Free
Aside from effectively marketing your website, you have to think of the user experience. Site speed, safety and easy to use are paramount. Don’t make your clients work hard to try and contact you. The less clicks the better. They will give up and go to your competitor's site.
Keep their details safe, Cyber Security is a THING! Imagine being a go-to website and suddenly your website was hacked. Or worse, had links to nasty porn sites. Not cool and so unreliable. So it's best to keep your website free of malware.
It will take time and hard work. You have to build Brand Awareness so customers recognise your offering. Then it has to be the right product at the right time. If they are not in the market for buying a new Car or a Photography session or their Air Conditioner hasn't broken down, then they will not call you. Now. But they will remember you for next time. And then you will be ready!
